COVID update: 100 new cases, 10 deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY  — The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff has been notified of 100 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday. There are also 10 new deaths reported Tuesday.

Of the 10 new deaths reported, ALL are previously reported confirmed cases. Five of them are from the Bullhead City service area.  Of those, one is 60-69; one is 70-79; three are 80-89. Four deaths are from the Kingman service area. One of those is 40-49; one is 50-59; one is 80-89; one is 90+. The tenth and final death is an 80-89 person from the Lake Havasu City service area.

Of the 100 new confirmed cases, there are 42 new cases in the Bullhead City service area. There are 24 new cases in the Lake Havasu City service area. There are 31 new cases in the Kingman service area. There are 2 new cases in the North County service area. There is 1 new cases in an Undetermined area of the county.

Of the 42 confirmed new cases in the Bullhead City area, 41 remain under investigation. Three are 0-10; two are 20-29; five are 30-39; four are 40-49; eight are 50-59; ten are 60-69; nine are 70-79.  The final Bullhead City area case is a 0-10 person, who is recovering at home and is linked to another case.

All remaining cases are still under investigation.

Of the 31 new cases in the Kingman area, one is 0-10; one is 11-19; six are 20-29; five are 30-39; six are 40-49; two are 50-59; four are 60-69; three are 70-79; three are 80-89.

Of the 24 new confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City area, one is 20-29; one is 30-39; seven are 50-59; seven are 60-69; four are 70-79; three are 80-89; one is 90+.

There are two cases in the North County area.  One is 20-29 and one is 40-49.

The final new case is a 30-39 person in an Undetermined area of the county.

Total positive cases: 16,787; total recovered: 10,285.

Steps you can take to prevent the spread of COVID-19 include:

ü  Wear a mask over your nose and mouth

ü  Stay at least 6 feet away from others who do not live with you

ü  Avoid crowds

ü  Avoid poorly ventilated spaces

ü  Wash your hands often

ü  Cover coughs and sneezes

ü  Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces

ü  Stay home if you feel sick

ü  Monitor your health daily
