Don’t get caught up in evildoing

Share

At this time we find ourselves in a world of chaos and wickedness. The Psalmist reminds the people of God of several things we must take to heart. These are not just passive ideas to remember once in a while, but are to be embraced and enacted upon.

Pslam 37:1-5 of David. Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers for they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and he will act.

If our society will ever experience a new direction it must be led by people that are certainly grounded in absolutes. Therefore, its people of faith in the one true an living God that must abandon the same desires of the world. The plethora of problems on the front porch of America must be solved by the church. The church  must repent from idolatry and return to the moorings of truth.

Fret not David writes. In other words don’t worry about the evil taking place in your midst. Also make sure you don’t get caught up in it yourself. Trust the Lord David says, and continue to be a person that does good. Find your joy in the Lord, not in the circumstances of the day whether good or bad. Commit your life to God, by serving Him according to the Word of God.

Again these are not passive words. This is not just ignore what’s happening in our midst like some are doing, that is far from our mission as people of faith.
