KINGMAN —  Kingman Republican Women on Monday hosted speaker Robert Del Grosso who addressed the difference between Americanism and Socialism. Del Grosso advised the group of approximately 35 people that it is not about being Republican or Democrat or working across the aisle.  He noted that since the Republicans lost the House of Representatives and are tied in the Senate,  the country is being governed by executive orders; which should only be used for emergencies.

In a Socialist society, the government controls everything from the curriculum in schools to healthcare, he said. Individuals have no choices and the government knows what is best for them.  Our country was founded on the U.S. Constitution and gives American a myriad of rights.  He contrasted that with an example of gun laws and the second amendment to the U.S. Constitution which is unique to our country.  

Del Grosso touched on the increase in violence in this country and the fact that it did not happen overnight.  Further, he addressed the fact that socialism is a ticket for free stuff which draws people in; our leaders are generally treated as celebrities and are not asked the hard questions or held accountable.

He said that PSAs (Public Service Announcements) are another way that propaganda is disseminated successfully. Del Grosso suggested that the group form committees; and regularly attend School Board Meetings, City Council Meetings and Board of Supervisors meetings.  They must be aware of what is happening and speak up when necessary; and to hold their leaders responsible for their actions and votes.
