FT. MOHAVE – Two Bullhead City men reportedly brandished firearms during an argument before one shot and killed the other in the Walmart parking lot in Fort Mohave. Personnel from multiple agencies responded at 5:30 p.m. Monday to the incident in the 5200 block of Highway 95.

Mohave County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said on-scene investigation revealed that Larry Marcum, 41, confronted Jim Mosier, 23, regarding Mosier’s previous alleged reckless operation of his motorcycle along the highway after they both pulled into the parking lot.

“The two engaged in a verbal altercation in front of the business during which time Mosier pulled out a handgun and held it down to his side,” Mortensen said. “The argument continued at which time Marcum also pulled out a handgun and held it to his side.”

Mortensen said Marcum placed his weapon in a pocket and tried to kick Marcum.

“Mosier then raised his gun and fired one shot at Marcum, striking him in the upper chest area,” Mortensen said. “Marcum immediately fell to the ground. Mosier then holstered his handgun and called 911 with his cell phone.”

Mortensen said bystanders performed first aid until medical personnel arrived to transport the victim to a local hospital where he died. She said Mosier was arrested and jailed for second degree murder following witness interviews and review of video surveillance.
