BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections for beating his girlfriend and an unrelated drug bust. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert imposed a 13.5-year prison sentence for Jacob Shields, 27, during a May 18 sentencing hearing.

Shields pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for choking, striking and kicking his girlfriend during a confrontation in June, 2020. Shields was also convicted of possession of dangerous drugs for sale related to an April, 2020 seizure of nearly six grams of methamphetamine.
