FT. MOHAVE – An outdated license plate prompted a May 19 traffic stop in Fort Mohave that evolved into a drug seizure and the arrest of a Bullhead City man. Mohave County sheriff’s office (MCSO) deputies reportedly effected a Wednesday traffic stop just before noon after spotting a motorcycle with an expired tag from 2017 in the area of Camp Mohave Rd. and Highway 95.

MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the driver, Paul Alan Reilly, 43, told deputies he was conducting a test drive after just purchasing the motorcycle.

“Deputies learned that Reilly did not have a motorcycle endorsement, the motorcycle’s registration or insurance,” Mortensen said. “A records check revealed Reilly’s license was suspended and he had an active arrest warrant.”

Mortensen said Reilly was detained when deputies observed he was wearing a GPS ankle monitor and learned he is on probation in California. She said a pat search led to the confiscation of a syringe from Reilly’s pocket and a bag from the fuel tank of the motorcycle.

“A search of the bag revealed 59.6 grams of methamphetamine, 34.9 grams of heroin and two digital scales. Reilly was booked into the Adult Detention Center in Kingman various drug offenses.
