MOHAVE COUNTY – Here is some detailed information containing trends and statistics concerning COVID-19 in Mohave County.

Among other information in the released data is the following:

Mohave County has the highest case rate per 100,000 (176 per 100k) and percentage positivity (19.1%) across the state.

The week of July 17th had a 15.5% increase in new cases compared to the previous week. In the last two weeks (7/4-7/17), Mohave County saw a 43% increase compared to the previous two weeks.

The average age of cases is also decreasing. Throughout the pandemic, the average age of cases is 47.0 year old. In May and June the average ages were 42.9 and 40.4 years old respectively. July has a current average age of 39.8 years old.

July has so far seen a relatively even distribution of cases among age groups greater than 10 years old and less than 70 years old. The largest percentage of cases came from the 30-39 age group.

As the pandemic has progressed, the average age of death has decreased. In 2020, the average age was 75.9. In 2021, this decreased to 72.3 years old.

The number of hospitalizations has decreased overall since the peak in early 2021, however hospitalizations have begun to increase again in recent weeks.

38.8% of Mohave County residents are fully vaccinated, which is the 6th lowest county vaccination percentage in Arizona. The statewide vaccination percentage is 51.6%.

The majority of cases continue to occur among the unvaccinated population. In May and June, 98.0% and 95.6% of cases were not fully vaccinated at the time of the diagnosis.
