KINGMAN – A routine traffic stop in Fort Mohave led to seizure of drugs from the purse of the Golden Valley woman who was driving. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said Deputies effected the Aug. 13 traffic stop in the area of Highway 95 and Aztec.

Mortensen said a records check revealed the vehicle’s registration had expired. The driver, Frances Cassandra Maria-Eckman, 60, reportedly advised her license had also expired and she could not provide proof of insurance either.

“A search of the vehicle was performed, and Deputies located a purse inside the vehicle that contained identification belonging to Maria-Eckman,” Mortensen said. “The purse also contained a baggie with 27.6 grams of methamphetamine.”

Maria-Eckman was booked into the Adult Detention Center in Kingman for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mortensen said it was also learned that Maria-Eckman had been named in five active arrest warrants for charges unrelated to the traffic stop.

Mortensen detailed a couple of other recent arrests in her Monday news release. Glenn Donald Simpson, 37, Kingman, was arrested following an Aug. 17 traffic stop in north Kingman.
Mortensen said Deputies knew that Simpson was named in arrest warrants and that a records check revealed a license plate belonging to another vehicle had been displayed on the vehicle Simpson was driving.

“A records check on the VIN number revealed expired registration since 2019,” Mortensen said. She said a search of the vehicle netted seizure of 2 handguns, a shotgun, a lock pick set, 2 grams of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Simpson was jailed for assorted drug and weapons offenses, plus other undisclosed charges in unrelated arrest warrants.

Mortensen also reported the Aug. 18 arrest of Bradley Allen Dollarhide, 40, Kingman. Dollarhide reportedly shouted obscenities and threatened people at one business and stole donuts and threatened to kill people at another before he was detained in the 4600 block of Sierra Rd.
Dollarhide was booked into the Detention Center for threatening and intimidating, shoplifting and disorderly conduct charges.
