KINGMAN – A pedestrian was killed when struck by a vehicle on Historic Rt. 66, just outside Kingman. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) said the accident occurred at 8:25 p.m. Sunday near mile marker 46.
DPS spokesman Bart Graves said the vehicle was westbound in an area commonly known as “Perfume Canyon”.
“A pickup truck struck a pedestrian standing in the middle of S.R. 66 without streetlights or crosswalks,” Graves said. “The 29-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.”
The name of the victim was initially withheld pending notification of kin.
Graves said the driver and passenger in the pickup truck were not injured. He added that no charges or citations are pending.
