LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Long Beach, California man faces aggravated assault charges for launching his friend from the hood of a vehicle in the parking lot of a popular hotel. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries in the Aug. 14 incident at the Nautical Resort.

The man suffered skull, leg and ankle fractures, abrasions, and other injuries and was life-flighted from Lake Havasu for treatment at a trauma center. A Lake Havasu City Police report said the act of violence was captured on video surveillance.

The victim reportedly positioned himself on the hood of a coupe to prevent it from leaving the parking lot. Police said 35-year-old Bin Sareorn backed up before accelerating to 30 miles an hour, stomping on the brakes, and flinging the man to the pavement.

Sareorn drove away but was subsequently apprehended and jailed.
