MOHAVE VALLEY – Defense Attorney Brad Rideout said his client was either asleep or zonked out on heroin when he was discovered with burnt foil in his lap and drugs in his vehicle parked at the Spirit Mountain Casino in Mohave Valley last Dec. A search of the Cadillac station wagon reportedly netted seizure of 111 grams of methamphetamine and prompted the arrest of Sean Miller, 33.

The Palm Springs, California man pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of attempted possession of dangerous drugs for sale. Rideout said the drugs discovered in a backpack belonged to a traveling companion, but that Miller knew they were in the vehicle.

Rideout told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen that the companion had made some unwanted advances when they were in Laughlin and that Miller made a poor decision to attempt to drive home before getting lost and tried to gain calm through a heroin buzz.

“I used drugs because I didn’t know how to cope with certain things,” Miller offered the Court.

It was noted that Miller racked up 8 felony convictions within 10 years prior to the instant case. Judge Jantzen imposed a 3.5-year prison sentence.
