KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department (KPD) is investigating a three-vehicle collision that hurt three people Monday. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said an elderly local resident was critically injured in the 8:30 a.m. incident in the 3800 block of E. Andy Devine Ave.

Cooper said the 70-year-old Kingman woman was driving a black, 2008 GMC pick-up truck when she tried to turn from Andy Devine Ave. onto Castle Rock Rd.

“She failed to yield the right of way to a brown in color 2016 Dodge pick-up truck driven by a 57-year-old Kingman woman, who had been westbound on Andy Devine Ave.,” Cooper said. “The westbound Dodge truck collided into the passenger side of the GMC truck, causing the GMC truck to collide with a white in color Honda sedan that was stopped on Castle Rock Rd.”

Cooper said the GMC driver was critically injured when ejected out of the passenger window and onto the roadway. The woman was not wearing a seat belt and she was airlifted to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas for treatment of life-threatening head injuries.

Cooper said the other two drivers were transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment of lesser injuries. The cause of the crash that prompted a one-hour closure of the westbound lanes of Andy Devine Ave. is under investigation.
