Nicole Mangiameli/Friends of Mohave County Animal Shelter Manager and Lynn Kannianen/Mohave County Animal Shelter President spoke at Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s April 16 meeting. The shelter takes in almost 4,000 animals each year. March 2021 a record was broken with 157 adoptions. In addition to local adoptions, the shelter also provides dogs to the Los Angeles Fire Department and to a Veterans organization in Murrieta, CA for Vets with PTSD. A major fundraiser for the shelter, Paws for Celebration, will be held Saturday, May 22 at Beale Celebrations. Included are beer, wine and champagne, dinner prepared by Chef Michael Gaul, music and dancing. To sponsor, donate, volunteer and/or attend log on to friendsofmcas.org or phone 928-716-4651.
