BULLHEAD CITY – Alcohol abuse is the common denominator for a Bullhead City woman who’s been sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections for otherwise unrelated criminal cases. Judge Billy Sipe imposed a 7-year prison sentence during a Monday hearing for Jennifer Morris, 43.
Morris pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for cutting her boyfriend in the neck with a butcher knife during a quarrel last Nov. at the home they shared in the 1800 block of Arena Drive. Morris has said that her inebriation blurred her memory of the incident and the victim urged the Court to be lenient with punishment.
Morris admitted the knife assault violated her probation for a 2018 conviction for driving drunk with a child in her vehicle. Judge Sipe imposed six months prison for the probation violation and 6.5 years more for the boyfriend assault.
