GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s office (MCSO) detailed a sex offense arrest in its May 7 news release. Mortensen said deputies responded at 12:30 a.m. on April 21 to a Golden Valley residence in the 800 block of Escuela Rd. for an alleged sexual assault.
MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said his mother told deputies that her son, Michael Ray Wyckoff, 22, had abused a family friend.
“The investigation revealed that the female victim had been sleeping on the floor when she awoke to someone touching her inappropriately,” Mortensen said. “The victim advised she pulled away from the suspect and ran to the bathroom.”
The victim identified her assailant as Wyckoff, who reportedly admitted misconduct. “I did a bad thing,” Wyckoff reportedly told deputies, admitting touching the sleeping victim.
Wyckoff was booked into the Adult Detention Center for sexual abuse and an unrelated active arrest warrant.
