LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man is resolving his child pornography case short of trial, entering a plea agreement that will send him to the Arizona Department of Corrections for at least a decade. Daniel Weidner, 37, pleaded guilty Monday to sexual exploitation of a minor and a reduced charge of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.
Both convictions involve images of nude underage females discovered among child pornography located within Weidner’s personal electronic devices seized during an Oct. 27, 2020 search of a home in the 3100 block of Desert View Court. Deputy county attorney Jacob Cote said one image was an unidentified minor while the other was an image Weidner reportedly solicited from a teenager with whom he was acquainted.
An investigation began when the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force alerted Lake Havasu City police that pornographic images of children had been flagged to a potential local residence.
Terms of the deal subject Weidner to a 10–24-year prison term with sentencing scheduled July 1 before Judge Doug Camacho. Probation, possibly lifetime, will follow incarceration.
