KINGMAN – A Kingman man connected to an alleged methamphetamine distribution ring denied being a “drug lord” during his May 7 sentencing hearing. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle ordered a 6-year prison term for Willard Campbell, 45.

“I don’t know how it got out of hand like this,” Campbell said of his drug involvement. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle noted that Campbell admitted purchasing a half-pound of meth for distribution in the spring of 2020 alone.

Campbell is convicted through a plea agreement of two counts of conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs for sale. He is one of a couple of dozen defendants charged following the multi-agency, 21-month long Operation King Crimson investigation.
