GOLDEN SHORES – A financial dispute between roommates escalated into a deadly confrontation in Golden Shores. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to the Beach Drive residence at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday, May 26.
Michael Maletta was dead at the scene. Investigation revealed that Maletta confronted Charles Haas regarding a financial dispute.
A news release indicated that Maletta attacked Haas with brass knuckles, grabbed his hair and threatened to snap his neck when Haas shot him. The MCSO investigation continues with charging decisions to occur through county attorney office review.
