BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police Department would like to remind residents of the permitted days fireworks may be used. Per Bullhead City Ordinance, the use of permissible consumer fireworks is only allowed within Bullhead City limits from June 24 through July 6. (And, from December 24 through January 3). Fireworks are not permitted in the Colorado River Nature Center or on BLM land.
The Bullhead City Police Department has responded to numerous reports of unauthorized fireworks. Although it is hard to track down violators, criminal penalties can include fines and possible jail time.
Remember, all fireworks have the potential to cause injuries and start wildfires, especially with strict fire regulations in place.
Permissible consumer fireworks defined by APA 87-1:
-Ground and handheld sparkling devices
-cylindrical foundations
-cone foundations
-illuminating torches
-wheels
-ground spinners
-flitter sparkers
-toy smoke devices
-wire sparklers or dipped sticks
Therefore, aerial fireworks (including bottle rockets and sky rockets or fireworks that explode) are illegal in the state of Arizona.
