MOHAVE COUNTY – The desert heat can be very dangerous. Try to stay out of the sun and drink plenty of water even if you’re not thirsty to stay hydrated. Avoid outdoor activities, or limit them for the early morning or evening hours. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light, loose fitting clothing. Please take the time to check on elderly neighbors and pay extra attention to children and pets during this excessive heat warning.
IN BULLHEAD CITY: The Suddenlink Community Center, 2380 Suddenlink Way in Bullhead City, will be open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. as a cooling center for people wanting to escape the heat.
IN KINGMAN: The City of Kingman has installed cooling stations during the heat wave expected this week and through the weekend. Cooling stations are located at Centennial Park Ramada 1 (Burbank Street side); Metcalfe Park (315 W. Beale St.); and Lewis Kingman Park Ramada 1 (2201 E. Andy Devine Ave.) Cooling stations will be open today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday, July 10.
