BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City police report the speedy arrests of two men allegedly involved in Thursday’s robbery of the Family Dollar store located on Commercial Way. The suspects are identified as Brock Austin Smith, 25, and Christopher Jacob White, 27.
Police responded at 5:15 p.m. to a report of a robbery at the retail outlet, and the suspects were in custody by 6:30 p.m.
“It was reported that a man, with a bandana around his face, came in with a knife, and gave the clerk a note demanding money,” said police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt. “He also demanded that a customer, who was standing by the checkout counter, give him money.”
Fromelt said case investigation developed information identifying Smith as the robber and White as the driver of the getaway vehicle. Smith reportedly fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and jumped in as White drove away from the crime scene.
Fromelt said it was determined that the suspects drove to the Circle K on Marina Boulevard where they disposed of Smith’s bandana and purchased cigarettes. She said that both men were arrested at White’s home in the 700 block of Swan Drive and that evidence related to the robbery was recovered during execution of a search warrant.
No one was hurt in the robbery. White and Smith were booked into the Adult Detention Center on an armed robbery charge.
