CLARK COUNTY – Clark County replaced the pavement at the Colorado River Food Bank this week, an upgrade that makes it easier to load and unload donations there.
“This was a much-needed improvement that will make it easier for the food bank to move heavy pallets and forklifts around the property,” Commissioner Michael Naft said. “The new 2,600-square-foot parking lot is made of reinforced concrete, which can withstand heavy loads and extreme heat better than the asphalt that was there previously.”
The new concrete pavement cost $29,850.
The Colorado River Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing food and clothing free to those in need in Laughlin, Bullhead City, and Ft. Mohave. The food bank is funded in part through grants from Clark County. The food bank is staffed by one administrative part-time employee who manages the paperwork for its programs, plus approximately 50 unpaid volunteers who give their time and energy to help the organization fulfill its goal of reducing hunger in the tri-state service area.
