KINGMAN – Kingman Republican Women will be briefed by District 4 County Supervisor, Jean Bishop, at their regular meeting on Monday, September 6. Jana Jackson, a candidate for LD28 (Legislative District 28) will also speak.
Supervisor Bishop will brief the group on issues in Mohave County and more specifically in District 4, such as the budget, water issues, roads, the American Rescue Plan Act funds that Mohave County will receive from the Federal Government, and other issues of interest.
Bishop, who was appointed to the position in 2014, is currently serving her second full term as Supervisor. She has lived in Mohave County for most of her life. She has 30 years of experience in law enforcement, has served as constable, and is a member of many boards and committees in Mohave County and the State. She has a degree in Applied Science from Mohave Community College.
She was recently appointed by Governor Ducey to the ACJC (Arizona Criminal Justice Commission). The Commission’s mission is to address, improve, sustain, and enhance public safety in the State and, in turn, create safer communities.
Ms. Jackson, who is running for election in Legislative District 28 in the Phoenix area, will deliver a speech regarding CRT (Critical Race Theory): what it is, its many forms, and the possible dangers of teaching it in our schools. She currently teaches science at North High School in Phoenix. Jackson developed a curriculum for NASA (National Aeronautical and Space Administration) and is a trained aerospace education specialist. She holds a BS degree in K-12 education and has completed the coursework and oral exam for her Ph.D in Education Leadership.
The Kingman Republican Women meet on the first Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. Meetings are held at the College Park Church Community Center, located at 1990 Jagerson Ave. facing Van Nuys. The meetings are open to the public and membership is not required. There is a $3.00 fee to cover the cost of the meeting room. A light lunch which includes a drink will be available for a nominal fee. Brown baggers are welcome.
