Fall Photo Walk in Rotary Park

BULLHEAD CITY –  – Bullhead City Parks & Recreation is looking to celebrate the beauty found within Rotary Park with a new event. A Fall Photo Walk will take place in Rotary Park on October 2 at 5 p.m. and is free to the public.

The Fall Photo Walk is the brainchild of local photographer and owner of Firafly Photography, Leslie Chester.  Chester and her husband, Shane, have each lived in the area since the 1970’s and have developed a fondness and appreciation for the beauty of the area. It was that love for the picturesque nature of their immediate surroundings that inspired the Chesters to come up with the idea for the event.

“Both Shane and I are creative,” said Chester.  “We want to bring a sense of pride and art to the area.  We want to offer a creative outlet within the community.”

For this first official photo walk, participants will meet at the skate park at Rotary Park for a quick introduction.  From there, they will proceed north along the trail to the dog park.  On this slow stroll, the group will look for subject matter.  As a professional photographer, Chester will be there to assist with any questions registrants may have.

“I’m excited about this program,” said Dave Heath, Parks & Recreation Superintendent.  “Bullhead City always strives for more recreational outlets for the arts.  An activity like this is perfect for that, and it’s a great way to get a closer look at our beautiful park and meet other folks with similar interests.”

The Fall Photo Walk will also include a photo contest with prizes.  Sponsors for the Walk and contest include Firafly Photography and Jatcom. Although the program is free of charge, all participants must register at Eventbrite.com.  Just search for “fall photo walk”.
