BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Parks & Recreation have announced the addition of a new athletic program at the Suddenlink Community Center. Hoopers will need to sharpen their shooting skills, as the Bullhead City H-O-R-S-E Tournament Series will begin next month. The tournament will consist of 5 events, with four matches per event over the course of five months. Each event will cost $20 per player, with the first taking place Oct. 23. Start time for each is 4 p.m.
“We have a lot of people in this community who enjoy basketball,” said Dave Heath, Parks & Recreation Superintendent. “If they are anything like me, the knees for running up and down may be gone, but they might still have that shot. This is for them!”
There are no prerequisites for skill or experience to participate. Participants only need to be able to make the shot they describe or the shot their competitor just made. Every participant will receive a t-shirt with their entry fee. Winners will receive a custom trophy. Men and women will compete in the same division. No dunking will be allowed.
Anybody interested in competing can sign up online at www.bullheadcity.com/recreation or in person at Suddenlink Community Center. More information on Bullhead City Parks and Recreation can be found at www.bullheadcity.com/recreation or by calling 928-763-0158.
