BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man will be going to the Arizona Department of Corrections for molesting a young boy. A plea agreement entered Tuesday in Kingman will convict Douglas William Archer, 61, of two criminal counts reduced to attempted molestation of a child.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Ken Sheffield told Judge Doug Camacho that Archer allowed a woman and her two children to reside with him at his residence at 1924 Sea Breeze Lane in March of 2020. He said Archer engaged in sexually motivated touching activity with the boy before the victim reported it to his mother in Dec. 2020.

Sheffield said the boy was 5 years old when first victimized and was 6 when he told his mother he didn’t like the Archer arrangement.

Terms of the deal require Camacho to order a 5–10-year prison term at a Sept. 24 sentencing hearing. Archer will also be required to serve probation and register as a sex offender upon release.
